The Mursyid and Ulama Declare the Jatma Aswaja Organization, Together Building the Nation and Strengthening Nationalism

The musryids and scholars of the tarekat from various circles, declared an organization called Jam'iyyah Ahlussunnah al-Mu'tabarah Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Jatma Aswaja).

This organization was born on 17 Ramadhan 1446 H, which has been officially legalized by the Ministry of Law through the Decree of the Minister of Law Number AHU-0001630.AH.01.07.Tahun 2025, concerning the Ratification of the Establishment of the Jamiyyah Ahlith Thariqah Almutabarah Ahlussunnah Wal Jamaah Association.

This organization is commanded by Dr. (H.C.) Muhammad Lutfi bin Yahya (Maulana Habib Lutfi) as General Chairperson and Dr. H. Helmy Faishal Zaini as Secretary General.

Jatma Aswaja was declared at Kanzus Shalawat Pekalongan, on Friday, April 18, 2025 in front of tens of thousands of jam'iyyah who attended the Dhikr and Friday Kliwon Recitation.

Deputy Secretary General of Jatma Aswaja M. Hasan accompanied by Maulana Habib Luthfi bin Yahya and Secretary General Helmy Faishal Zaini and the management team, read the Ikhbar for the inauguration of Jatma Aswaja in front of tens of thousands of congregants.

Secretary General of Jatma Aswaja Helmy Faishal Zaini explained that this organization was built on two main pillars, namely first, building transcendentalism and second, empowering the economy of the people.

"Making tariqah a way to strengthen the relationship between servants and Allah. In a world full of distractions, humans need a quiet space and tariqah provides that space systematically," he said.

He continued, dhikr, suluk, and manners towards the mursyid are not foreign practices from social life, but are actually the foundation of public piety.

"Jatma Aswaja invites Indonesian Muslims to return to the tradition of congregational dhikr, thariqah studies, and strengthening the sanad of knowledge and spirituality," he said.

In addition, he explained that the spirit of thariqah is not anti-worldly. On the contrary, thariqah encourages people to prosper the earth.

Therefore, Jatma Aswaja is committed to carrying out integral da'wah: purifying the soul and making the economy independent. Through cooperative networks, empowering MSMEs, to philanthropic movements based on Islamic boarding schools and zawiyah.

"Jatma Aswaja wants to ensure that thariqah practitioners are not only spiritually strong, but also economically and socially resilient," he said.

Furthermore, according to Helmy Faishal, JATMA Aswaja stands on the values ​​of Wasathiyah Islam—a concept of middle Islam that rejects extremism and rigid religiosity.

“The principles of tawasuth (moderate), tawazun (balanced), tasamuh (tolerant), and i’tidal (fair) have been inseparable values ​​from the practice of thariqah since long ago,” he explained.

Secretary General Helmy Faishal revealed that the mursyid Thariqoh teach that religion should not lose touch with reality.

“Because the essence of religion is to teach about generosity, namely an attitude of generosity, the strong helping the weak, the rich helping the poor. This is important for the current global and domestic context, which is relevant to the condition of the nation,” he explained.

Secretary General of Jatma Aswaja Helmy Faishal Zaini explained that the mursyid thariqah, since the time of the Walisongo until today, have been the guardians of the beauty of Islam through a gentle, polite, and embracing approach.

JATMA Aswaja is said to be committed to continuing that legacy. Namely maintaining harmony between people, maintaining diversity within the framework of ukhuwah insaniyah, and reaffirming akhlakul karimah as the spirit of civilization.

The establishment of Jatma Aswaja, according to Helmy Faishal, is not just the formation of an organizational structure. However, Jatma Aswaja is a sign of the times that Islamic spirituality still has a place in the midst of a fast-paced and shallow world. It is the voice of God's lovers, who walk in silence but change many things.

"Through Jatma Aswaja, a new generation of thariqah practitioners will be born who are not only fluent in wirid and dhikr, but also wise in leading the people, fair in transactions, and strong in protecting the nation from polarization and division," he explained. ***
